Our History

After their residencies, Dr. Kate Messana and Dr. Christopher Messana were invited to complete additional fellowship training at the prestigious Cleveland Clinic in Cleveland, Ohio. Dr. Kate Messana trained in dermatopathology, and Dr. Christopher Messana trained in Mohs micrographic surgery and dermatologic oncology.

The two founded Elevated Dermatology and Skin Cancer Surgery Center in 2017 to be the premier dermatologists in the Denver, CO area. With the addition of Krista Davis, LE, CLT in 2019, Dr. Melanie Wolf in 2023, Amanda Webb, PA-C in 2024, Dr. Tesia Kolodziejczyk in 2025, and most recently Dr. McKenna Abercrombie and Joel Pool, PA-C, Elevated Dermatology now has five board-certified dermatologists, two board-certified physician assistants, and an aesthetician and laser technician to care for our patients’ medical and cosmetic concerns.
