Dermaplaning is noninvasive and safe. Following treatment, you can have some redness and/or dryness around the treatment region, but these side effects are quite short-lived.

None, but we recommend avoiding exfoliating for a few days after treatment
Dermaplaning is one of the best treatments for gentle hair removal and exfoliation. We use a sharp blade to clear old, damaged skin and expose newer, unharmed skin. Skin is formed in layers, and this exfoliation process allows us to bring younger skin to the surface, free of the blemishes and damage caused by everyday life. Dermaplaning helps bring back the glow to your face.
This type of hair removal will not cause your hair to turn black or coarse in the area treated. There are other, unsung benefits to this process as well. You may think that dermaplaning is only useful for those trying to undo skin damage and look younger, but that isn’t true. Your makeup will go on more smoothly, and your at-home products will penetrate better, allowing them to be more effective.
How It Works
Dermaplaning involves gently scraping the epidermis (top layer of skin) on your face, removing dead, damaged skin and unwanted hair. Your provider will use a scalpel during the treatment to exfoliate the skin.
Unlike shaving, dermaplaning also removes the top layer of the skin and makes skin look more luminous.

Frequently Asked Questions About Dermaplaning
Results are immediate.
Dermaplaning results last for a few weeks. As your skin cycles roughly every 4 weeks, we recommend repeating treatment to continue results. We advise our patients to repeat dermaplaning once a month to help their skin’s natural shedding process.
